New version can tweet from FileMaker Pro 11!

We have released a new version of Troi URL Plug-in, our plug-in that retrieves web pages, images and fills in HTTP forms all from FileMaker.

Troi URL Plug-in 2.6 adds three new authorization functions, which make it very easy to work with a Twitter account and post tweets! We have included an example to get you tweeting in no time! This update also adds several other improvements, like a new function to URL encode text. Finally it sports a new user guide and a few bug fixes. Together with the improved proxy support and images handling and Windows 7 compatibility from the 2.5 version, this is a very powerful internet plug-in.

Works with FileMaker Pro 9, 10 and 11!

Troi URL Plug-in 2.6 is compatible with FileMaker Pro 11 on Windows and is a Universal Plug-in on Mac OS X.

Troi URL Plug-in runs native with FileMaker Pro 9 to 11 and runtimes created with FileMaker Advanced 9 to 11.

Run as a server-side plug-in

Troi URL Plug-in 2.6 is compatible to run under FileMaker Server: it can run as a server-side plug-in or as a plug-in used by the web publishing engine when using FileMaker Server. This means that you can use the powerful internet functions in server-side scripts, opening up lots of new possibilities. Fill out web forms from FileMaker Pro

Troi URL Plug-in can help you fill in forms on the Internet, all from FileMaker Pro. It also retrieves data from any HTTP URL. All from FileMaker Pro you can:

• use the POST method to fill in a web form and retrieve the result directly in FileMaker Pro
• use the GET method to retrieve data and images
• use a secure connection (HTTPS) using SSL
• get access to password protected web pages
• encode text into HTTP format
• new: send your request through a proxy server, even if the proxy server requires a username and password
• show a custom progress dialog during the retrieval (Mac OS X only)

Send (authorized) tweets from FileMaker!

Troi URL Plug-in 2.6 makes it easy to authorize an account using the oAuth protocol. Twitter uses this protocol to secure their Twitter API. After authorization tweets (and other commands) can be sent for an account from FileMaker without the need to log in.

More powerful: big parameters and images too!

Troi URL Plug-in 2.6 uses the native External Function API introduced with FileMaker Pro 7. The plug-in functions now have a size limit of 1 Gb per parameter. Also the function parameters support Unicode characters.
You can even get JPEG, GIF and PNG images directly into a container field.
